This is my KLR.
There are many like it but this one is mine.
My KLR is my best friend.
It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
My KLR, without me, is useless.
Without my KLR I am useless.
My KLR is human, even as I, because it is my life.
Thus, I will learn it as my brother.
I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories.
I will keep my KLR clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready.
We will become part of each other.
Love your photo of “Slave House located at the Prestwould Plantation.” Would you be willing to let our museum use a copy of the image in an exhibit catalog? We might be able to offer a small compensation.
Hello Audrey,
You are welcome to use the picture in your museum. Thank you for the compliment.
Thank you so much! We didn’t have time to put it in the catalog, but we are going to use it in the exhibit. If you would like to take us up on the offer of a small honorarium, please contact me at audrey.davis@alexandriava.gov.
Also, how would you like to be credited for the photo? We have a tight deadline, so if we don’t hear from you by 5 PM on 11/7/2016, we plan to say, “Courtesy of A. Watkins at klrmad.wordpress.com.”
That is fine with me.
